Yang Ming's YM INVENTIVE Vessel Receives Biofuel from Turkey's Arkas Bunker
Taiwanese shipping company Yang Ming's YM INVENTIVE vessel recently received biofuel from Turkish marine fuel company Arkas Bunker. Arkas Bunker provided the fuel "Bio24F," which is a blend of waste cooking oil and Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil (VLSFO). The waste cooking oil, which comprises 24% of the blend, is ISSC-certified and is sourced at restaurants and food facilities, while the other 76% is traditional VLSFO.
Arkas Bunker is the first Turkish company to obtain the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) for marine fuels, cementing the viability of Bio24F.
The bunkering of YM INVENTIVE took place at the Kumport in Turkey. This was the first instance of Arkas Bunker providing its fuel to a company other than Arkas Line, which is a sister company of Arkas Bunker under the same parent, Arkas Holdings.
