SITC orders container ship pair at Huanghai Shipbuilding
SITC has contracted two 1,800 teu container vessels at a total cost of $57.96 million at the Chinese shipyard, Huanghai Shipbuilding.
The two vessels are expected to be delivered between 31 October and 31 December 2027.
“The company is a leading shipping logistics company in Asia that provides integrated transportation and logistics solutions. The construction of two new container vessels is to expand the self-owned fleet of container vessels of the Group to meet the Group’s operational requirements,” said SITC.
For the year ended 2024, container shipping volume of SITC was approximately 3.56 million teu, an increase of approximately 10.6% from that of the previous year.
SITC believes that the reasons for the increase were mainly attributable to the increase in the group’s container shipping volume driven by the stable expansion of the Asian market
